Amarachi Okafor is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Amarachi received, Her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. Her Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner training was conducted at Duke University Hospital Behavioral Health and here at Freedom Psychiatry. Amarachi has gained significant practical experience in a variety of healthcare settings, such as Adult and Pediatric Behavioral Health Emergency Department and Level 1 Pediatric and Adult trauma Emergency Department experience.
Amarachi has a strong passion for mental health and does community advocacy work in the RDU area under her own organization Mentally Fit. She strives to de-stigmatize mental health within all populations but especially within the youth and young adult populations and serve vulnerable populations including minorities. She aims to create a safe space for individuals to cope with daily stressors and thrive in their personal lives.
Amarachi enjoys advocating and teaching others about mental health and its correlation to daily life. Her motto is Be the light you want to see in others. Her goal is to continue to raise awareness to mental health and empower individuals to become mentally fit by building a stronger mind one day at a time.
We accept only a few patients per day, so we can dedicate time to evaluate each patient comprehensively in a holistic fashion, Each patient will receive a needs assessment evaluation by the social work staff initially and then the case is discussed with Dr. Madaram to present the best course of action.
