Step by Step…

Once you’ve made your appointment, checked your insurance coverage, and filled out your patient forms, you’ll be ready to meet with our social worker for an initial evaluation. She’ll sit with you and take a thorough history of your health issues, your family’s health issues, and your home environment.

At that point you can schedule an appointment for your psychiatric consultation service with Dr. Madaram to begin to sort out the specifics of your situation or condition, and form a treatment plan together with him.

We may agree upon sessions of individual psychotherapy, couples counseling, or a specific mode of therapy called cognitive behavior therapy.

If medication is needed as part of treatment, Dr. Madaram’s training in psychopharmacology equips him to prescribe the best options for you. Sometimes it’s a process you and he go through together, to find out which treatments bring the best results for you.

If he does prescribe a medication, you’ll need to meet with him in the office regularly for medication management sessions. This will allow him to keep a close eye on how effective the medicine and dosage is for bringing you relief from your symptoms.

These aspects of care apply to children, adolescents, and adults, and are geared to be age and stage-of-life appropriate for you or your child.

Dr. Madaram uses an electronic medical record system. This online system provides a portal for secure messaging and scheduling requests. When we see you in the office, we’ll provide you the information you need to use that portal.

**Please allow 24 hours for prescription refill requests. Although some prescriptions can be sent electronically, some require a paper prescription that must be picked up from the office.
